About CEAC

CEAC provides leading-edge internal audit, governance, risk management and related services to the public sector.

With a current fee income of £2.7million, we audit total public spending to the value of £10billion p.a., whilst our client base stretches from Lancashire to the Isle of Wight, and from Avon to Suffolk.

CEAC’s origins can be traced back to 1974, with the formation of 3 county-wide audit teams. Now we operate as a true Consortium, with all of our major clients as stakeholders in our success. We have achieved a strong track record of stable and controlled growth, expanding our services and geographical coverage to meet the ever-increasing demands of the public sector.

We set ourselves apart by our commitment to

  • Quality
  • Continuous performance improvement

  • The public sector
  • Exacting client service standards.

Our staff are experts at analysing and evaluating the business objectives and systems of our clients, then bringing practical and effective solutions to bear.

We offer 7 mainstream services, a useful summary of each of these is provided on separate pages within this site and are developing more offerings to meet our client’s needs.

In addition to our three regional offices (in Ipswich, Oxford and Northampton), we work from operational sites across the country.

CEAC has maintained its ISO Quality Accreditation since 1997, and our high standards are reviewed externally on a 6-monthly basis by Lloyds.

Prism

CEAC is part of Prism (www.prismauditandconsultancyservices.org), an NHS confederation of audit consortiums, which comprises five large NHS audit consortiums based in London, the South and the Midlands. The members remain as separate entities but they collaborate across a number of areas to improve the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of their services. These collaborative initiatives include:

  • Joint tendering for new business;
  • Client benchmarking and best practice tracking;
  • Joint investment in determining and rolling out best practice for our service lines;
  • Joint investment in staff training and development;
  • Co-funding specialist services lines such as PFI audit;
  • Working towards common working practices;
  • Development of a portfolio of private sector consultants in order to be able to extend the range of consultancy services offered to clients and the dissemination of the results of consultancy exercises to clients.
  • Collectively Prism members employ in excess of 140 staff and have 60 NHS clients.
